AKFA Group provided support to children with cancer
According to the WHO, every year around the world, more than 300 thousand children aged from birth to 19 years old are diagnosed with cancer. Almost 900 children in Uzbekistan are annually diagnosed with a terrible diagnosis. As cancer incidence rates rise, the entire world community is trying to draw people's attention to this problem. For example, on February 15, more than 90 countries around the world hold events dedicated to the International Day against Cancer in Children. Events dedicated to this date are also held in our country.
The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an annual charity event for children. It was attended by representatives of ministries, deputies, entrepreneurs, and Uzbek pop stars.
It must be said that at present more than 60 children are fighting cancer in the medical institution. In general, 100 children's beds function at the center of oncology and radiology and its branches throughout the republic. More than 4000 patients under the age of 18 are treated in oncological institutions per year. More than 3000 surgical interventions are performed annually.
Regardless of the patient's age, cancer treatment is a complex process, both physically and mentally. Sick people need not only timely and high-quality treatment, but also special support.
To support children with oncology and their parents, a holiday was organized in the children's department of the center with the participation of artists of the Republican Puppet Theater.
They did not forget about gifts for young patients. Representatives of the AKFA Group presented each child with a “Box of Courage”, which will be useful for children undergoing treatment – allowed sweets and fruits, as well as a drawing kit and a book that will diversify the pastime in the hospital.
In addition, the Holding provided charitable assistance to the Ishonch Foundation for the purchase of equipment and medicines necessary for the children's department. The Ishonch Charitable Foundation was established on July 2, 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology. The purpose of the fund is to provide assistance, including financial assistance, to people with serious illnesses of various origins, their families, as well as medical and other institutions, doctors who treat patients with oncology.
- Unfortunately, oncology can affect any family and it is difficult to cope with it alone. Therefore, helping children with cancer is our common goal! - says Kamran Gulamov, the CEO of the AKFA Group. - We provided charitable aid to the Ishonch Fund, supported children from the Republican Cancer Center, donating special Boxes of Courage on February 15. We are happy for those who could overcome the disease or are on the way to recover. We thank our doctors for their hard work and support parents who feel pain for their children.
- Dear our beloved boys and girls, - Kamran Gulamov addressed to the patients of the hospital, - We believe in you and hope that you overcome the disease very soon! May your life be full of miracles, happiness and fun. I wish you success and strong will in everything!
Thus, the oncology center, in cooperation with business representatives and government organizations, maintains a positive attitude in children and the confidence that all the joys of childhood are available to them, that they are loved and will not be left alone with an insidious disease.
The AKFA Group seeks and develops talents to build together the future of technology and engineering science in Uzbekistan.
